Japanese manner

Welcome to all the foreign tourists who are planning to come to Japan! As a Japanese, I am very happy that you are traveling to Japan! So, I would like to share with you some things that you should know before you visit Japan.

1: When you buy something at a store, you must first get to the end of the line.

In Japan, when you are waiting for your turn at a restaurant, waiting for a train at a station, etc., you always have to wait in line. In such cases, be sure to stand in line at the end of the line. Furthermore, when the customer in front of you at a restaurant is ordering from the waiter, you should not get too close, even if you want to look at the menu. It is preferable to keep a distance and wait

2: Don’t make too much noise on the train

Basically, when you are on a train or bus, do not make too much noise. Obviously, conversation is allowed. However, some Japanese may be a little concerned if your voice is too loud. So, when you talk to someone, be careful how loud you sound!

3: Do not eat on the train

It is fine to drink water and eat snacks, small foods on trains and buses. However, it is advisable to avoid eating lunch boxes and strong-smelling food.

Thank you for reading ! I look forward to seeing you all in Japan!
